The delicate Grecian windflower, Anemone apenina subsp. blanda,si  much less common on Skopelos than the brighter more robust anemones of the fields, A. hortensis; it is found only in the moist, shady, woodland environment in early spring, often situated in close proximity to the roots of an olive tree. There are many petals varying from white to palest blue and numerous pale yellow stamens. The flowers tend to droop slightly and are held on dark red curved

stems. Leaves are dark green and divided into 3 lobes which are further divided into small segments.
