This very delicate campanula usually grows amongst the grass and early green growth of foliage which fills the meadows and olive groves in early spring.  The brilliant blue star-like flowers are held on straight, finely branched stems.There are five green needle-like sepals alternating with the petals. The flowers have 5 yellowish stamens and a mauve tripartite stigma. There are a few soft green lanceolate leaves on long, slender stalks. It is one of several species of the campanula family to be found on Skopelos.
