Lantana is an alien in Greece, native to tropical areas of America but it has become a noxious invasive weed in many parts of the world, including Australia and Solomon Islands, invading a variety of habitats, including forests.

With its cheery, fragrant, pink and yellow candytuft-like flowers and shiny black berries, Lantana is a garden flower, which has escaped and become naturalised within the confines of Skopelos town. If it is cut back regularly it can be kept under control.
