Tordylium maximum is an attractive plant with  creamy white flowers arranged in umbels, with the outer flowers having larger petals on the outer margin; it is  similar to the much commoner Tordilium apulum. It grows in fields and olive groves, flowering in early spring.It is widespread on the Greek mainland but has only recently been identified in the Aegean1.
