Fumana laevipes

Sun rose

Cistaceae - rock rose family                                                                                   Dicot.

Reflecting the sun in both name and nature, the sun rose, Fumana laevipes is a plant of dry, stoney places, often growing at the base of rocky, limestone outcrops, where it tolerates high levels of heat and sunlight. The name Fumana comes from the smokey smell emitted when pulled up by the roots. It is similar to F. thymifolia but has fewer flowers held on upright, not drooping stems.
