Geranium molle is  of many tiny pink flowers to be found intermingled with the rapidly emerging flush of green vegetation, which spreads quickly across the island  in spring.

The lower leaves are rounded with deep clefts but further along the stems, they become more deeply cut. The stems eventually grow very long, straggling through the surrounding vegetation.

The plants are differentiated from other geraniums by the size of the flowers, the deep cleft in the petals and the long and short hairs on the flower stalks and calyces. Some of the hairs are glandular, that is they produce secretions which protect against high temperatures and high levels of light.
