Bellis sylvestris is a Mediterranean daisy which flowers in the autumn and spring to avoid extreme temperatures and lack of rain. in summer. It has taller and more slender stems than the similar Bellis perennis. Its scientific species epithet suggests that it is a woodland plant; it is found in forest clearings and also phrygana or macchie, where it springs up in the rocky soil between the shrubs.
