The tall handsome crown daisies fill the April fields with green and gold. The stems are branched and leaves finely divided. most of the daisies are uniformly gold but occasionally a two coloured variety is seen, when the gold centre is surrounded by white, Glebionis. coronarium var. discolour. The leaves are edible when young.
