Wrinkled medic Μονοετής μηδική
Fabaceae - pea family Dicot.
One of several species of medic found on Skopelos, Medicago rugosa has small, yellow pea flowers, the typical of the Medicago genus, with trifoliate leaves which are toothed at the edges and coiled fruits which have a rough surface but without teeth or spines. They are annual plants which grow rapidly in spring, complete flowering and go to seed in a few weeks before the summer drought begins.
Medicago from Greek Mediki (Μηδιίκη) from the area of Persia where the plant was first cultivated
